isokon bottle ship

The Isokon Pocket Bottleship, designed by Egon Riss and produced by Isokon is a handy piece of furniture that is semi permanently fixed to the wall. The bottleship is capable of holding up to 2 bottles of your chosen drink and up to 6 glasses which is the ideal when entertaining family or friends, as the unit simply removes from the wall to serve drinks as you wish.

The curved design is very similar to that of the original penguin donkey, again designed by Egon Riss. The use of aero ply provides an excellent skin that wraps around the curvaceous gull shape which is made up of two 12mm ply ends and four 12mm ply interior horizontal pieces to support the frame.  The support for the glasses is produced from CNC’d 15mm plywood that is shaped to allow a comfortable fit for the most modern of glasses available. The holdall is produced from aero ply and is curved around at one end to allow a perfect cylindrical shape for your chosen bottle and the other end has CNC’d produced cuts to match the support behind for the glasses.

Please note - this was a university project in collaboration with Isokon and I am not permitted to sell any part of this design, nor do I have any bottleships or components to sell. I am happy to answer any questions on this project though.
