Testa Stool

The Testa Stool, a cork polypropylene stool with an extremely exciting design composing of three materials that have had their boundaries truly pushed and tested in the same way Robin Day would have, to produce a piece from materials not commonly seen within furniture. The polypropylene shell wrapped in rubber cork sits snugly on a slender gloss black frame, the shape and waterfall front conform to your body to offer a truly comfortable and innovative design.

This stool was designed using the same empathic approach to design as Robin Day had. Passion and curiosity for material manipulation were at the forefront of the design as well being fully focussed on the user. The glossy black polypropylene gives superb comfort and strength, due its flexibility. Wrapped in 4mm rubber cork, the plastic goes from being strong to extremely soft and welcoming, drawing the user in with its warm characteristics. The entire design oozes Robin Day influences throughout from the expressed shadow gap flowing up and into the circular cut out, to the combination of chrome bolts and matt black washers sitting proud above the cork.
